Macquarie Principal Finance Reputation
Considering exit opp from my current IB role (mid tier BB decent group) to join Macquarie in their Principal Finance Group (non-infrastructure). From what I understand this is the merchant banking side that does direct lending and private equity investing.
I realize Macquarie Principal Finance is not a megafund but curious how Macquarie Principal Finance stacks up as a buyside shop. My questions are:
- How is the reputation across the street?
- How is the compensation?
- How is the lifestyle / culture?
Bump.
Good culture, know 2 people in small SF office. Probably won’t have carry, but shouldn’t be a concern this early in career. They are dedicated to biz and last I heard have $10bn balance sheet. Good gig, and potential great “lifetime” seat. Take job if offered
Anecdotally I have heard that the comp at Macquarie is terrible.
How terrible?
I can't remember what group they are in but as a second year analyst their bonus was %10 of salary and the team closed a lot of deals that year. This wasn't in the US btw.

is that the same for MIRA?
Could you share some anecdotes?
