Most MDs only check their LinkedIn a few times a year. When they do accept requests, its usually only from their reports or people in their firm. So, you can put in your requests if you want, but I recommend you find other ways to reach out to people.

Doubt this is true. Their job is to network...

Edit: I keep getting these stupid alerts from some of you idiots. I guaruntee MDs check their linked in more than “a couple of times a year”. I’ve seen a bunch of them quite active. Given that they and clients keep their linkedin up to date, i can assure you that they are looking at it. They just don’t respond to people they dont know because it’s not worth their time.

Anyways, please get a clue and have fun dreaming about getting into this stupid industry.

No. Just plain no.

Not every MD is in a position that is required to network. Of the ones that do, LI is the last place they look. Plus there's the whole spam aspect of it; I'm two levels down from MD and I get junk every day on LI. I can only imagine how hard it is for those with an MD role.

Agree with other posters, fuck off with the spam. College kid here and I get spammed by at least a dozen reqs weekly from random kids at my school etc. People really think pressing the connect button is networking. Why would a random MD bother to add you?
