Meal Allowance Policies
Any insight on meal allowances for the Canadian banks? What are the prescribed budgets for weekdays vs. weekend? In office only or WFH too? Any restrictions on where you can order (takeout or groceries)?

BMO: $35 on weekdays and $70 on weekends
You can order more if you're staying past midnight
Do you know if they allow you to use the allowance for groceries or is it strictly for meals from a restaurant?
Don't think that's allowed
You can’t even get dinner on the weekends anymore at DB unless you’re in the office lmao
I believe all Canadian banks with the exception of BMO and maybe NB are $25 with the others $35.
What's the expectation with this? like its fair game and no one questions if you take advantage every day?
If you are working past a certain time you can expense dinner. My firm is super flexible i.e. you can order anytime after 5 PM and then go home after you eat but i've heard some firms you need to wait until 8 PM. Cant be things that aren't readily consumable i.e. cant buy raw eggs etc. but you can get pretty creative i.e. snacks etc.
CIBC Toronto is $30 btw
CIBC in NYC is 35 a night
Anyone know what the policy is like at the pension funds?
anyone with insights on scotiabank? toronto or nyc would be useful. thank you!
$25 (TOR) which is pretty lame - hopefully they increase it soon
Credit suisse?
What about EB’s? Evr, Cvp, laz. Do you get a nightly meal comp?
CVP technically has no limit - no receipts for anything under 100.
What is the typical cutoff to order dinner? I heard of one firm that has a 9pm policy which feels very late. Does this mean the earliest you can order is 9pm or can you order at 8pm if you know you’ll be in the office past then?
Order after 7pm if you think you'll be staying past 9pm
