Merger Model: Merging FYE Dec 31 and Jan 31

Dear all,

Currently, I am busy building my own merger model for educational/training purposes. In specific, I am assuming to merge Nvidia and AMD as of February 2018. Now I am confronted with the pity that Nvidia's FY17 ends at 31.01.2018 and AMD's at 31.12.2017. At this time no 18Q1 exist for both companies. My question would be how you I should merge both IS and BS?
In case of Nvidia, I was thinking about adjusting the FY17 IS by taking into account only 11/12 of it and adding 1/4 of last year's Q4. Is this a suitable way ? Regarding the BS, as it is a snapchot in time, I see no solution right now.. Am I on the right rack? Would be grateful about any help !

Best

I am assuming that I am in February 2018. Its a hypothetical situation. Closing of transaction would be Feb-2018. Book close, you mean the FYE's? Nvidia: 31.1 and AMD: 31.12.

I am just confused about how to merge the BS and IS, or how to calenderize correclty in this situation. Thanks for any further answers !
