Metals & Mining - Where Does UBS Rank?

Hi All,

I know there has been a lot of turmoil at UBS in regards to their IBD. I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on this issue and also, would anyone that has experience in the metals&minings industry offer insights on where UBS ranks among the BBs. What's the future of UBS as a major player in IB?

Metals and Mining has had turnover lately, like just about every other group in the bank. I couldn't comment on that group's reputation specifically but this article from last week's WSJ provides an overview of the general carnage.

They did have a big hire last week (stole MS's head of energy) but then lost 2 more senior people Friday, (head of fig, americas and head of capital mkts, americas)

i think we have established previously that your opinion is useless. The fact that you are (seemingly) defending UBS, in its current state, only reiterates your lack of utility. And actually their FIG group was fairly well regarded.

Are you still trying to find someone to let you play with CapIQ so you can bash BarCap?

Sorry you got no offered :( //www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/no-return-offer-sa-future
