MF IR Comp / IR Comp

Hi all. Currently at an EB IB. Not the most technical person and much prefer the client facing / strategic nature of the work relative to modelling.

Wondering if anyone has any insights on comp at the analyst and associate level of any MegaFunds (or any PE firms) in their Investor Relations / LP Services / Client & Product Solutions teams in London?

Especially interested in top firms who have large client & product solutions teams (CVC / Advent / EQT), as well as top UK based funds (Apax / Virtruvian ?) Honestly any insight at all regardless of firm is appreciated though.

Also how does recruiting work? I assume via HH like Dartmouth and PER?

Not sure about London but there is a decent range. Since salaries are partially based off of Associate comp ranges who sit on investing teams, higher paying MFs usually have higher paying IR seats. But there are some MFs who pay their associates on the investing teams really well while giving their IR associates peanuts in comparison

The range I have seen is 175-225k all in the U.S. for first associate IR year. 125-150k base seems the most common. But you shouldn’t just target MFs. Sometimes MMs can be higher paying and going to a lean IR team on a growing platform is a good place to be for your career. And IR seats can just be hard to come by. Some places just seem like they never have seats open yet they always have a full teams.
