Mid tier BB/low group exits

Hi all, looking to get some insight on exits from a mid tier BB in a not-so-great-group for on cycle PE recruiting. For context, I am an incoming analyst from a non-target. I’m actually starting early in April, which hopefully it going to help for on cycle having an extra 2-3 months on the desk and some live process experience (can anyone comment on this if it helps or not?)

I know that I’m probably not going to be looked at by MFs, but how viable is UMM/MM? Is networking going to help, or just straight up grinding interview prep and killing it with HHs? Any insight/advice from people coming from similar situations in lower groups at mid BBs?
