What are the best places you have found to meet business owners?
Despite what my profile says I just transitioned into a senior role at a MM shop after a bit of a bouncy career:
EB => PE > CDEV > MM Banking Shop1 > MM Banking Shop 2.
We focus on ~$5.0-$25.0mm EBITDA businesses and I am realizing all of my network connections are within much higher EV companies and are much more white collar than our average client.
Of course, we are focused on direct outreach through several vectors and have network relationships with PRSNs, but want to start building my own network more organically. So the question:
What places/organizations/activities have you run into the most potential clients? Industry conferences, the country club, the local bar in a nice area, etc.?
