Minmaxxing Internship

I am currently interning at a small boutique in Chicago.

I already have an offer at a top group at a BB for next year, and was wondering how I could minmaxx this boutique internship. I basically need tips on how to do the least actual work without being bad enough to the point where I turn into that RBC/CVP kid from last year and get my real offer pulled.

Reputation isn't a huge issue since I plan to leave IB and take over my family's business after my 2 years anyways.

I'm probably going to get shit for this, but man you really got to change your attitude

You should not be "minmaxxing" anything at work - you're an intern and there's endless stuff for you to learn. Candidly, if you already have this attitude, and aren't willing to do the little stuff well and work hard during an internship, you have bigger problems

Good luck

Yeah I get it. I'm definitely not going to have this attitude during my BB internship... but this is a tiny shop that doesn't win any deals and is effectively paying me $5-6 an hour. I've had to clean the bathrooms, mop the office floor, and other BS.

I just don't really see the point of putting effort into this

I would say that if they are making you do things like cleaning, then ya fuck them don’t put in effort. But if you have tasks that are technical and job related, put in effort and it will help you next summer
