Mistakes in first few weeks

How many mistakes in the first few weeks on the desk are acceptable. Feeling a bit down as I am trying pretty hard but making simple mistakes i.e. answering comments too late (MD wasn’t happy), forgetting to send an email eod etc.

For reference I am 3.5 weeks on the desk. Is this normal? When are the "silly" mistakes expected to stop?

You literally just started. Completely normal. If you have specific to do’s on your list, I would recommend using Outlook’s Task functionality to list your tasks. If there is something you have to do at a certain time, create an appointment in Outlook so you are reminded to do it (so set an appointment to send an email at X time).

Overall I wouldn’t worry about it, just try not to make the same exact mistake tomorrow.

Also just remember that people don’t think about you as much as you think they do. People forget most silly mistakes, especially in the beginning, if you’re performance overall is strong.
