You would have to place into both. Obviously Moelis RX will place better into credit/ distressed, but generally speaking for firms/ groups like these exits and career outcomes are 99% on the analyst themself and not the bank they're coming out of. You will get interviews anywhere you want. I think there may be selection bias generally due to the schools Moelis recruits vs. MS for traditional MFPE though. 

I'd take MOE anything over all the groups at MS that don't hold pen on the models though. I remember a post circulating about per-capita exits that had EVR 1 MOE 2.
