What is Moelis culture / analyst experience actually like? Is it as sweaty as people say it is? And what is the culture like for groups outside of M&A Generalist / RX?
Don’t think it’s sweatier compared top BB groups or other EBs. FWIW it’s a lot more institutionalized compared to 8-10 years ago when it was an absolute sweatshop. No uniform culture as a result and some groups are definitely worse than others. A lot more A2As compared to peers which helps with culture overall.
Sweaty and unbearable. Tons of middle market deal staffings + way too much pitching. You will be suicidal. And the top and bottom bucket bonuses differ materially. Stay the fuck away.
Yes, the top bucket $ are high but extremely hard to touch, so they lure people in with top bucket potential pay but most if not all get mid.
I knew people who devoted their lives to their analyst year(s) and got mid bucket.
What are they giving for mid bucket
Can confirm the above comments, generally on the sweatier side (depends on group obviously) with some being absolute sweatshops with significant gaps between buckets. Decent amount of third year analysts also. Top bucket pay is on higher side but mid bucket is not anything special and for the hours not great.
