Moelis NY vs PJT M&A NY

Wanted to gather your thoughts on where I should intern for my junior summer. Very excited to have received an offer from both places, and vibed with both firms really well.

How would you rank these two in terms of prestige/exit opps?

Moelis = PJT. Id personally go Moelis just from the convos I’ve had with some of the bankers there

Strong exits for sure, but also great culture and WLB. Agree that EVR is the best place to be for M&A. For Moelis or PJT, pick based on fit. Prestige/exit opps comparable.

The marginal difference between the two is irrelevant and the exits are on par with all other EBs. Instead of focusing on that, pick the one where you think there’s the best culture, people you fit in with, and overall place where you could see yourself for 2 years if exiting is your goal.

Went through the same decision. PJT has a pretty good no-asshole culture with people who generally don’t take themselves or the job too seriously. From my convos with Moelis, seems like they have an “only assholes” culture. PJT has protected Saturdays every week, Moelis has one protected weekend per quarter I believe (might be outdated info so pls correct me if wrong).

Only pro to Moelis imo is if you also want to get rx exposure

Thats weird… the people I’ve talked to at Moelis seemed a lot more chill/friendlier. But idk if it was just the group I talked to/interviewed me
