definitely tony romo.

On a side note, how about a cougar story ;)?

I believe Lady Gaga is truly in a league of her own.

I dont mean to cut in on monty's stories, especially since he seems like he has much better stories then I do! ...but..i have seen a few good trading floor fights. One of them which came to blows happened in the first week i was working at a new job on a prop trading desk at a large bank. I was sitting on the desk, nervous b/c its my first few days, trying to make a good first impression, etc...the dude next to me, who was a senior trader in the group, starts yelling at a salesman over the phone because he's pissed about a fill...nothing really new there since i had worked on trading desks before but it was a bit awkward since i didnt know the guy and he was being really loud. Then another dude on the desk walks over, hits the button on his turret to hang up the phone, and absolutely explodes screaming at the guy about how he was a fucking crybaby, he was sick of his bullshit, he needed to shut the fuck up and quit making excuses, etc. The dude who had been on the phone popped up and threw a punch and the two had to be broken up by everyone..nobody landed any serious blows but it was pretty crazy. I was just sitting there in shock since it was literally like my third day on the job...I was obviously not sure what i had just gotten myself into!

Later I found out...and this is not a joke...that the fight started the week before when one guy stepped on the other's toe while they were on a line to get lunch. Seriously.

Please tell me that the guy who threw the punch was immediately fired.

anything with extreme and unlikely situations, like the time you met that cougar VP...

========================================= We are excited to formally extend to you an offer to join Bank of Ameria

nope. both of the guys involved were gone within a year but it had nothing to do with the fight, they just both werent making any money. This was a really old-school place though where things like fights on the floor were not firing-worthy offenses provided both participants were willing to put it behind them and move on. I am sure that at 99% of firms they both would have been gone immediately since they were both really at fault.

Good lord. This sounds more like a bar than an investment bank. Heck, if I punched someone at a bar on a weekend night, I'll be thrown out and most likely get arrested for assault.

This firm, which no longer exists (not due to the crash of '08-'09), was known for its old-school culture. Despite stories like the above I miss it greatly, as does eveyone i know who worked there. I'll take an occasional fist-fight over a total corporate culture any day. And of course in a bar you would have been thrown out, but this was not a bar, it was an extremely profitable broker/dealer.

let's consider the term cougar as a spread--so being 20-24 I'd go with 32-40

Tell me about SAC? My friend just started running money there. We hung out a ton when was running a book at this little hedge fund; I haven't heard from him since he started.

I think San Antonio College is a great place to run money. The river walk around April is crawling with drunk girls for fiestas and you cant beat the base close by.

I don't want to hate, but I was expecting some life-alteringly outrageous stuff here based on monty's previous material. Have to agree with brick and moneyrunner here.

Whenever I get an e-mail on my berry to tell me that someone posted on this thread, I cry when I see no story :(.

monty, my offer stands, bananas for stories :D
