Morgan Stanley Freshman Enhancement Program

I'm a freshman at a non-target Midwest state school. I applied for the Morgan Stanley Freshman Enhancement Program in New York and I am fairly certain I am getting at least a 3.7 this semester and the next. I hold a position within my investment group and am involved around campus but I feel like I still have a long shot at this. Does anybody have any knowledge about this program and how it works?

Yes, they take about 20 kids for this program. This past summer there were two freshman in IBD, one or two in GCM and the rest were in various roles in S&T. It's a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and set yourself up well for subsequent summers.

Many the kids were from top schools -- Penn, Columbia, Stanford, Georgetown, etc. Some historically black college representation with Spellman and Howard. There were students from Michigan and Claremont McKenna as well.

The program is for underrepresented minorities. If you are coming from a non-target, I would recommend networking and getting in touch with a recruiter. I'm not sure what divisions you applied to, but the numbers are skewed more toward S&T so it may be worth prioritizing that division as there's more seats available. I believe they also let you apply using your high school gpa if you haven't received a colleg gpa by the time you apply. If your high school GPA is higher than 3.7, Id recommend applying before you receive your fall grades so you can use the higher high school gpa.

When I applied there were two different applications, one for minorities and one for not. I applied to the GCM portion and my high school GPA is not as high as my fall grades.
