Morgan Stanley London | Advice for 2023 Intern

Hi all,

I will be interning next year at MS in London (Off-Cycle) and would like to get some insights about the general intern experience and ways to maximize my return offer probability.

1. How are hours for interns in general - are there specific rules like protected weekends / Saturdays etc.?

2. Which teams are best to secure a return offer (I imagine M&A and sector teams that are not too exposed to the current crisis climate?)

3. I am especially interested in advising B2C companies, which teams would be the coolest if only taking into account this information (C&R only or are there other teams that I'm neglecting?)

Thanks a lot in advance for helping and sorry if my questions may be naive / uninformed.

Congrats!

1) Hours are very dependent on team and deal flow. In general, MS is known for having smaller teams which translates into you having to work more.

2) Your logic makes sense to an extend, however, let us say the team you are interning with is not converting due to macro trends, but you have performed well then you would likely get an offer from another team.

For 2) you probably need to actively network with other groups.

Do you know when team allocation will take place?

Thanks for the insights, offer is quite fresh so team selection will probably only kick-off in the coming weeks
