They are more like personal wealth managers and financial advisors but they run personal portfolios and such
OP is talking about a retail brokerage office where they handle clients retirement accounts.
And the answer is no, not really. If this is somewhere you're interning as a sophomore in college or the summer after that's fine, but if this is your summer internship after junior year or a full time job after college you will be at a disadvantage.
