Morningstar equity research reputation
I'm wondering about Morningstar's equity research reputation and career progression opportunities for equity analysts. Is it common for Morningstar Equity analysts to move over to BB's equity research departments or even the buyside? I am looking to make the jump to a large asset management firm like Black Rock or PIMCO and was wondering if something like this was common at Morningstar?
to preface, I know multiple people who work in that department. moving to William Blair equity research is a lot more common than moving to a BB or asset management. have not heard of people moving to places like BlackRock, but you could probably do a quick LinkedIn search to figure that out.
also, it usually takes ~2 years to become a full equity analyst if you start there post-grad, assuming you pass further applications to get into the equity research department.
