not sure then. Know a guy who did gs soph summer and then went to BX for his junior year. Assume it was through div programs tho

The best sophomore programs for the most part were the sophomore SA internships at BBs, but those are gone or going away. GS closed their's recently and BofA just took their last cohort. The only one left is MS, but that is exclusively for diversity. If you're diversity then consider MS sophomore the best thing you can get.

Some great buyside places like Silver Lake have sophomore programs, which are incredible opportunities, but they usually don't give returns. It's more like they have your name at the top of their list for on-cycle if they liked you and you go to a good bank. The advantage of the BB programs was that you could return for junior summer and then full time, so people could effectively get their full-time job as a freshman.

Update: MS cut their program

I know a couple non-diveristy kids who are doing / have done it seemingly without nepo but I don't know much about the process beyond that tbh

Think they cut the program unfortunately. Offers were out already by this time last year. BofA scrapped their program too
