Motion for JPM to initiate protected Saturday!
Motion for JPM to have at least one fucking protected day a week...
What does JPM have?
- One weekend off a quarter (lol)
What does BofA have?
- Protected Saturdays
- Semi-protected Sundays
What does Goldman Sachs have?
- Protected Saturdays
What does Citi have?
- Protected Saturdays
- Protected Sundays once every 3 weeks
- One weekend off a quarter where you don't have to check your email whatsoever (incredible)
What does RBC have?
- Protected Saturdays
What does Barclays have?
- Protected Saturdays
Wait I was told protected saturdays were a thing already when I got my offer lol...
Which group?
The citi policy is completely wrong. It’s just protected saturdays every weekend. Nothing else. Please fix
Assume you're referring to the second and third bullet. Its not wrong - might be group dependent then. Its for a coverage IB group that brings in one of the most, if not the most revenue.
i can assure you it’s definitely not the standard across 90%+ of IB coverage groups. You can’t cherrypick one group’s policy and say it’s a Citi BCMA or IBD policy.
lol, amazing that Citi's analysts don't even know their own banks' policies
bc 2 of the 3 are straight up not citi policies
United we stand, divided we fall.
Imagine your one protected weekend per quarter getting blown up lmao
Happens all the time tbh. Even if I have to log on for like 2-3 hours it makes it impossible to schedule anything. We can pick another weekend if we end up working a lot but that defeats the whole purpose.
Do interns get protected Saturdays / weekends? Or are we slaving away as well?
M&A banker told me we slave away
They literally just cut protected weekends from once a month to once a quarter, lol.
The goal is to phase them out completely, not give people MORE time away from the office
Oh man I kept seeing quarterly and i was wondering what happened. That is brutal, totally going in the wrong direction.
I heard they are giving 10 protected holiday long weekends on top of quarterly protected weekends?
yeah, you don't have to work on Christmas unless a client asks for something. so generous. Huge win.
not a new policy though
Wait so the other banks also stop working at ~6 / 7pm on Friday and then get every Saturday off completely??
Correct. At Citi it's 10p Friday - 10am Sunday
The one protected weekend per quarter with no e-mail is RBC. The policy is you can have one long protected weekend (so Friday off) once per quarter.
Protected Weekends?
- *All MDs and senior level bankers have immediately left the conversation
Y’all are fucking idiots…just don’t answer your email on weekends until like Sunday night. What’re they going to do, fire you? No shot.
Get pushed to the depths of the bottom bucket at least. Also they probs won't stop at emails if something comes up - phone will get blasted for hours if they need something
