Moving groups internally

Hey all,

Does anyone have any advice/experience in moving internally to the M&A group (in my case from Corporate banking) after a summer internship into a full time analyst role. The corp banking team does sit with the investment banking division so this does help but I was wondering what to say and how to approach HR/managers on the topic. Does the move depend if people who hold FT offers from the summer drop out or something? 

Also are there any good pointers for the 'Why move group' question in an interview.
