MS GCM Superday questions?

Basically title - what questions should I expect? Especially technicals? I'm a bit unclear if I should be studying more market-related technicals, or IB type technicals. Plus GCM is so broad, questions are so vastly different for FI vs equities vs levfin. Someone pls help

Based on the most helpful WSO content, for a Morgan Stanley GCM (Global Capital Markets) Superday, the type of questions you should prepare for will depend on the specific division you're interviewing for (Equity Capital Markets, Fixed Income Capital Markets, or Leveraged Finance). Here's how you can approach it:

  1. Technical Questions:

    • For ECM and FICM, expect more market-related technicals. Be prepared to discuss current market trends, interest rates, bond pricing, equity issuance processes, and how macroeconomic factors impact capital markets.
    • For LevFin, the questions might lean more towards traditional IB technicals, such as DCF, LBO modeling, and credit analysis.
  2. Behavioral Questions:

    • Like most superdays, behavioral questions will be critical. Be ready to discuss teamwork, leadership experiences, and how you handle challenges.
    • Morgan Stanley emphasizes cultural fit, so expect questions that dig into your motivations and how you align with their values.
  3. Strategic Thinking:

    • GCM roles often require strategic thinking. You might be asked situational questions, such as how you would approach a client looking to raise capital in a volatile market or how you would structure a deal.
  4. Resume-Based Questions:

    • Know your resume inside out. Be prepared to discuss your past experiences, internships, and any market-related projects you've worked on.
  5. Division-Specific Focus:

    • If you're unclear about which division you're targeting, try to get clarity before the interview. Each division has a unique focus, and your preparation should align with that.

i interviewed a while back and its both market and ib technicals. I found the interviews to not be that hard, but they cover topics where if you haven't seen the questions before they might be hard to answer on the spot. This site has a few interviews from ms gcm
