My associate wants to use all of his PTO...
Just hired an associate (target school, good internships, from the contiguous US) and within the first month of work he asks me about using 2 days of PTO this summer. Not only that, he's asking to use it on the holiday, when I and other leadership will already be taking off.
The audacity of this generation baffles me. They think they are entitled to just leave their team and their workstream unattended to and still have high paying jobs that others dream of. Should I fire him now, or work him so hard that he either breaks or learns how to hustle?

This is non-contiguous states behavior. Tell his staffer to not let him see daylight. Crush his soul.
PS, when the work is this interesting, they should want to stay!
