Only way you can stick out other than doing well on the dumb case study models they’ll give you is just being attentive and not distracted/bored during all the calls they host. Ask questions, make them remember your name etc. I wonder if they will find a way to have us work on live deals this summer, bc idk about you but my summer internship last summer (lower tier BB) was cut in half. This summer theyve already said it will be 10 weeks. Cant imagine 10 weeks of bs case studies

BMO IB (at least NY.... and S&T is a different story) doesn’t over hire so it’s your offer to lose. Just be a normal person, do well on your stock pitch (if they do that again) and intern project and always offer to help and you’ll be fine. Last summer BMO staffed their interns on live deals so that’s a huge plus.

What everybody said above is spot on - pay attention, be engaged throughout the summer, and do well at what you’re assigned (live deal work or case study, whatever it may be). Network with the Analysts and Associates in your group (and other groups as well) so more people are able to remember you and you get a better feel for the culture/work environment. Also, offer to help out with any admin tasks that the juniors do, I’m sure they’ll appreciate it
