I'm just finishing up at UVA McIntire. Unfortunately, most of the investment banking interviews will go to McIntire kids. They also have a separate online recruiting system that you won't have access to (my year, the firms that used this were: Sagent, KippsDeSanto, Harris Williams, Breckenridge, RBC, Deutsche Bank, Hodes Weill, Roark Capital, Macquarie, and Greenberg -- probably has changed in that last year though). Luckily, almost everyone uses the normal system. That being said, most Econ majors at UVA go for consulting. If you network effectively, you should be able to get some interviews. I'd search linkedin and find UVA Econ majors to talk with. You also might want to take on a second major like math. Not a lot of people are only Econ at UVA. Good luck!
