Natural short sleepers: what does it feel like?

To those that are genetically gifted with the ability to function on less hours of sleep - what does it feel like? Does it feel like a big advantage within the industry? Where does it come from - are your parents the same and in finance? Do you feel better getting more sleep at all? Does being able to function on less sleep mean your body does not react negatively in any way?

Ngl, a little jealous of ppl who just don't need that much sleep and are health-wise fine.

There's that specific gene in less than 1% of the population that allows them to function properly on very little sleep and I mean like 4 hours a night

Huge competitive advantage

Most people you see who are not getting 7-8 hours of sleep are really not doing fine health-wise, it's really bad for you

Still in college but definitely use it already, can take early morning classes that are generally empty/low energy.

In general i sleep 4/5 hours a night and feel fine, if im really active during the day i might sleep max 6, 6.5 before waking up. All nighters have similar effects on me based on other ppls symptoms, but after I get past midday I dont feel tired anymore. I see it as more shifting the goalposts for what constitutes enough sleep, but it doesnt make me immune to sleep deprivation if I'm sleeping 2-3 hours consistently. One parent has same thing as me, but I come from immigrant family so they're not in finance. My younger brother does not have the same ability(he has to sleep normal amount). I think a couple genes cause it but we never got tested so idk what we have
