Need some advice...Which internship
I have already accepted an offer to intern with Merrill Lynch this spring semester- It will be two days a week. However, I can also get a position this spring semester at UBS- two days a week so technically I can work at both ML and UBS at the same time. Do you think this will fly?... Is it worth asking my boss at ML if he would be cool with that or will that just make me look unloyal... Thanks
depends on the type of work you will be doing. may be noncompete clauses in your contract if you signed one. I'm pretty dumb, so if I was in your position i would likely ask my boss. Are the internships both paid? If so, just say you really need the money for textbooks or whatever and wouldn't have asked otherwise. Also I'm not sure how this would look to future prospective employers....probably bad lol....so yea don't do it. Go with ML, UBS is garbage these days (even PWM)
Consider the conflicts of interest involved as well... This isn't going to fly for many reasons.
Both are strong...go with just one, and focus on your classwork.
Pick one or run the risk of losing both. What happens if you go for both and one or the other wants you to work more or whatever. I agree with above, your lucky enough to have two great opportunities. Run with it .
if its PWM, then i don't see much conflict of interest. most PWM interns do a lot of grunt work...so i am sure if u tell ur managers they wouldn't care.
Hey, congrats OP.
Mind if I ask if you got these BB internships through networking, or do they have a part-time intern posting at your school? Mainly concerned with the ML one.
Thanks.
Yeah, How were you able to get two spring internships? I know for a fact that my school ( target) did not have that many spring internships posted on the career website.
Thanks for the advice... I decided to go with ML bc the MD seems like he actually wants to see the interns learn which is nice. I got these through school. I go to school in the city (nyc) which is helpful b/c a lot of these bb firms are looking for interns during the school year.
