Networking

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is doing well and have a good summer thus far.

I am currently interning my sophomore summer (at an unrelated firm in finance) in the same city where I will be for my junior year IB summer.

Although I love my firm very much and am very appreciative of the summer offer, I understand that IB return offers have to be earned and as a result it is not necessarily a FT return offer. That being said, I want to network with bankers of other firms during my time here. Is there any advice that anyone has for me? I don't want to appear to be snubbing my firm (small world, word travels, etc), but at the same want to learn more and potentially maybe even upgrade banks for FT from tier 2 to tier 1.

Should I ask for in person in the first time interaction, or stick to phone? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!
