Networking Help: How many times to Ping again before giving up?

Hi all I have a networking contact that I've known for about a year. I met him for coffee a year ago and we exchange emails about every 2 months where I usually just share updates with him and what I am working on. A month ago I emailed him and he did not respond. I 100% understand he was probably busy, forgot to respond, etc. I realize how busy analysts are. I reached out again and he has not responded. Can I wait 2 weeks or something and ping him again? Or am I being too pushy? I don't want to seem like some pesky annoying kid. Is 3 times too much? I genuinely don't think hes ghosting me as the last time we emailed he offered to meet up again in person. I just don't want to feel like some kid bugging him .

Depends on the strength of the connection, how first interaction went if you made it.

Last month was holiday season. Email probably got lost in the shuffle.

Since you met in-person and have stayed in touch bi-monthly, would try following up multiple times. There is no hard limit. I'd say after the 3rd time just straight up call his desk or shoot him a text.

Thank you for the response! Do you have any recommendations on how to word my next email, I feel like I need to say something like "Reaching out again, as I imagine your inbox got cluttered" or "Just wanted to ping you again, as I realize things most likely got busy right after the Holiday season" Or is a phrase like this not necessary?
