New York FT Training

Hi,

Incoming FT at a BB based in London. Been informed that we will be undertaking a week and a bit of training in NYC.

Curious to expenses?

I assume flights + hotel are paid for by the firm (that's what was alluded to anyway).

How does the food situation look like? Assuming probably breakfast is provided, but what about lunch + dinner?

Generally, how is the accommodation situation? Do we get our own rooms or do we need to share with someone else?

Thanks

Bump - wondering if anyone can give insight into whether per diem food allowances are given + whatever else? Thank you!

Thank you. Awesome that the Uber is a permanent thing now, I thought it was only a temp thing for the summer interns.

I was more curious to the expenses for the training period in New York, however.

Can’t speak for FT training at Citi but US MM SA training in a different state gave a $50-75 daily stipend depending on if lunch/dinner was provided on the day of. Would definitely assume you guys will get a daily stipend too

Economy flight + 3/4 star hotel to be expected.

$50-$75 per day for food. Important to note they may stipulate that only $25 can be used for each meal for example. On the days food is provided by the bank, then your stipend usually drops to compensate for that.

please sign up for a credit card (e.g Amex Gold) where if you spent 3k within first 3 months you get bonus points/cashback. Bank will normally cover CC fees/FX fees so it’s easy way to benefit from the trip.

Excusing all the economics, it’s hard work but tons of fun. Get out and explore with the cohort.
