No salary increase in London yet, do you guys know why? or when?
Base salaries have increased in NY, but not in London, even though the cost of living there is very high, am I the only who finds this weird? Do you guys have any idea why this hasn't happened yet? or when it would?
Best!
Not quite sure where you're getting your info from. Know some BB's have bumped from 45k to 50k
Several MM's have also been bumped to 50k.

From what I have heard: UBS, Barclays and BoAML have bumped to 50k.
What does this have to do with anything? It's not like living costs in London have skyrocketed compared to like a year ago, is it? What's the correlation of living costs in NYC and LDN?
Maybe salaries haven't been increased since there are no super cap tech firms who are pretty attractive to graduates or the named banks need to take extra measures to retain/attract talent.
I'm just saying living costs are basically the same and it would be cool to have the same salary that's all .. and true what you said about tech firms, but isn't there also a problem for banks when it comes to bankers going to PE or HF?
So you expect two different cities in the world with comparable costs of living to have employers match incremental salary increases in one city just because salaries have gone up in another city?
aaaaah .. yeah ? If it's the same firm, then I don't see why it wouldn't be the case .. I frankly do not think that Wall Street analysts work more than Canary Wharf analysts .. I'd be interested in knowing your point of view
The thing is though, that there's more going on in the Americas compared to EMEA at least regarding M&A. Therefore, the US branches may make more money and can afford to pay higher salaries without decreasing profitability.
Also, for foreigners, as far as I know, getting a work Visa for the US is quite tricky. Due to this 'barrier to entry' the employers don't have to worry about paying the same in all regions.
Salaries are coming up. My BB has raised. I'm sure it will roll over to all the others as well.
50 or 52?
I've been told from a colleague in Barclays that Barclays, MS and Citi have increased it.
MS hasn't ...

Know a girl who just signed a contract with MS and they still offer the standard rate. At least for now.
Citi is still the standard for first year analysts
Barclays did raise it.
Both in NYC
I can confirm that at least one European BB has increased its salary to 50k.
shouldn't that be a 55 to reach the USD85 back in the states?
