Absolutely a sweatshop - just interviewed someone from SVB looking to lateral to my firm and he is literally desperate to get out.
Which office?
Working here right now. Ya it's totally a sweatshop (has been since COVID) as they are basically doubling their headcount to deal with deal flow and expansion into Healthcare services and Tech. Very rough, but this is something the seniors are trying to get on top of and are trying to over hire at the moment.
To my next point, the people are awesome, and I think they really stand out in terms of that side of culture (culture is too damn broad of a term). I will be returning for sure.
Will add that pay has seemingly been really good to match their deal flow.
Got an offer there for SA 2022, and I can confirm that everyone I talked to at the bank was great and easy to get along with. The hours are on the rougher side, but it's nothing beyond what you would see from other banks.

Cain and MTS have great reviews regarding their culture. Both have extremely knowledgeable MDs too and seem to take pride in being industry-specific boutique bankers vs. the bigger institutions.
People I met at Cain were super nice, but their recruiting process was a mess

Lot of good sponsor activity in HC services (middle market, billion dollar deals - Cano Health). Pretty solid in medtech middle market deal flow too.
Almost every HC group is an absolute sweatshop. I think JPM has the biggest group at junior level by a large margin, but I hear it’s still pretty bad.

CS healthcare runs lean at the analyst level and gets absolutely worked. One of the busiest groups lately

Unsure how it is now but a good chunk of their HC services team left to Gugg and have been doing very well.
