NYC Summer housing near JP Morgan

Hey everyone,

I'm working at JP Morgan (in Midtown) this summer and I'm looking for a place to live. A couple of my friends are using EHS (http://www.studenthousing.org/) and living in 55 John Street (in the Financial district) but I am kind of concerned about the 25 minute commute to the office. Any suggestions on where to live? EHS? NYU or Columbia housing? Any other options? I would prefer something that wouldn't be too complicated (as I am leaving to study abroad soon).

NYU housing, any of the Union Square dorms: Third North, Coral (shithole), or Alumni. Get on at Union Square, get to the office in 15 minutes.

Murray Hill

EHS is a shitty deal unless you like living like a freshman again

I've heard mixed reviews about NYU, but for that price, you can split a nice flat in Murray Hill

Found one last year for $1300 including utilities (split between 4 roommates). 'Nice' relatively speaking vs. EHS and NYU, especially if you plan on being there before training or sticking around for a couple of weeks after you get your offer

20 minute commute is not a big deal... JPM used to reserve suites in the NYU dorms at Lafayette and Canal...from there, you hop on the 6 train to Grand Central and then a 5 minute walk to the office. 20 minutes door to door. You can shave off 5 minutes if you catch the 4 or 5 at Union Square in transit...and living with other people who are interning at the same bank can be a lot of fun.

There's only a meal plan requirement if you choose the traditional style, which no one in their right mind would do because there's no kitchen or common room that way.

If your company has reserved rooms through NYU, you'll get guaranteed space.
