Based on the most helpful WSO content, Oppenheimer is indeed a middle-market firm. In a discussion about ranking MM banks, Oppenheimer was listed as 7th. However, it's important to note that rankings can vary based on different factors and personal experiences.

As for the culture, exits, and other specifics about Oppenheimer, I'm afraid I don't have that information at the moment. I would recommend checking out more threads on WSO or reaching out to current or former employees for a more comprehensive understanding.

Interned there, great firm—tons of directors and analysts with previous experience at BB firms like Morgan Stanley and UBS. Recently hired ex-Credit Suisse MD for LatAm DCM. Can't speak on IB that much, as I interned in S&T. From what I heard through colleagues and interns, the IB analysts do get worked pretty hard, but that is expected for IB. Base salaries are meh, but the bonuses are pretty nice. I think most underestimate Opco, it ranks pretty high among peers, notably to Baird, Stifel, and William Blair. Most of the company's revenue comes from the wealth management services, along with having a pretty big S&T department. Great bank to start your career, as many analysts have jumped to some sort of PE or Bulge Bracket IB role. Also the HQ in downtown in NYC is super dope, a dream spot to intern at for the summer.

Yes there was OT pay being $30 an hour, and I committed in from my house in NJ that was relatively close to Manhattan. Can say that other interns were definitely burning through their money unfortunately

The UBS/CS people are all people who didn't get seconded to UBS and didn't get offers from one of the various firms that poached such as DB/WF/Santander or just UBS/CS people who got fired in the past year without an offer from any of the aforementioned firms that recruited a lot of UBS/CS talent. Not sure about the MS people, but can confirm for sure the vast majority of ex-CS or ex-UBS people are those on the weaker side.
