Other Jobs In Finance

Was initially thinking of getting into IB but after some research about the hours, other factors and some honest self reflection,I’m starting to think it’s not for me,what other jobs in finance could one pursue that aren’t IB?

Literally tons. Thats a pretty broad question, so better to drill down on what interests you, what your strengths are, and what you want to get out of your (I assume first) job in the space.

Just to rattle some off, other positions in finance that are somewhat reasonable to secure out of college include things like equity research, sales and trading, wealth management, corporate/commercial banking, and corporate finance type gigs at places ranging from startups to F500. Also, depending on your school, grades, previous experience, and connections, you could potentially find limited opportunities in the "exits" such as private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, distressed debt, etc. The hours and lifestyles across all of these vary immensely and some will be closer to IB than others.
