Yeah my experience with Extern was garbage. The 1 month long “externship” had ~4 hours of actual work and the majority of my 300 person “cohort” came from 3rd world countries. I can’t even fluff up the experience and use it as resume filler because no one knows what the fuck an “externship” is and I just sound like a moron whenever I have to spend 2 minutes explaining the whole arrangement. Thankfully I didn’t pay anything for mine, but I’d recommend anyone looking for work experience to stay away.

Lmao why on earth would you pay for that??? Did you pay paragon one or the intermediary? I did the exact same program for free, so if you paid an intermediary then you’re just an idiot. While the work wasn’t anything special, it was good to put on my resume and it helped me land a great freshman summer internship. This one is on you

Thank you so much for sharing. Without this post, I would’ve never guessed that paying someone for the privilege of working for them was a dubious proposition. I will cancel my biweekly checks to my employer imminently. But I’m still going to keep tipping my MDs at the end of the fiscal year to reward them for performance.
