Park Lane Sports IB?
Anyone know anything about Park Lane, aside from it being a sports investment bank? Any info would be appreciated - even non-specific info about the sports industry. I imagine doing banking in sports is quite a bit different than a traditional industry, say, technology. Any info about interviewing there or experience there would also be appreciated. Thanks.
I can't get the website to pull up for any info about them, but from the initial thought it sounds like a dream job! I would LOVE to work at a bank that deals with advising in sports. I thought I would just try to work within technology (my second passion behind sports), but I never even thought a firm like this exists (pending its a decent, reputable firm)! Does anybody know any other firms like this?
I actually was going to intern there a while back, but I took another offer. The guys there are really nice as I was talking to them. However, not really sure about the real work you do there though.
That's really cool. Any other firms like this one? Do BBs have banking in sports (probably not but just wondering)?
I remember going through the regional boutiques list a year or two ago, and Game Plan LLC did some work with the Celtics and Dodgers. The website looks old as hell, so I don't know if they got bought out or what.
But are there specific groups at the BBs that work on sports IB? If so, what are the groups?
Millhouse, if you read through Park Lane's "news" blog, they mention Goldman quite a few times. I'm not sure of the specific group, but they were hired by the Yankees for the stadium, and I believe Tom Hicks has hired them to help sell his portion of the Rangers. The former owner of the Padres, Moores, also hired Goldman to help find suitors for the team when he sold them this past offseason.
JPM is handling the sale of the cubs.
joseph ravitch is the only reputable name in sports banking.
kardashian lol... at least it would be fun!
Speaking of ravitch...looks like he just left Goldman, anybody know if he's starting his own firm?
I was googling him earlier and found this... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601208&sid=atOXXCIm8ziM
