Tbh a quick linkdin search will show you that MS in finance usually go to quant / trading roles. MBAs on the other hand feed right into IB, especially if you come from Wharton or Booth or CBS. So if your sole goal is IB or consulting, I’d recommend shooting for MBA. Only thing is MBAs look for 2ish years work experience.

Ps: pls take what I say about MS in Finance w a grain salt this is just based upon what I’ve seen and ppl I’ve spoken to. I know MBA —> IB is very common, however.

 

Sadly I didn’t go to a target school for my undergrad, in fact, I didn’t even go to college in the US. Tho I plan to apply to an MS in Finance program for fall ‘22 or ‘23, all contingent on how quick I can get a high GMAT and internships related to the master’s course
