Piper Jaffray - Public Finance

I'm going to be having a phone interview for Piper this coming week.

Has anyone one through it, or care to shed some light on what the focus of their questions will be? Obviously, the more detailed you can be, the more I would appreciate it.

Thanks for anything you can give - and feel free to PM if you are uncomfortable posting publicly.

I work in Public Finance for another firm. I don't know what to tell you as far as interview questions- mine really weren't too difficult. I would say compared to corporate finance interviews, they didn't really expect me to know a ton about public finance, since it isn't covered as much in college.

I would just recommend reading up on the industry, specifically the turmoil in the municipal bond industry. If you were able to speak intelligently about Meredith Whitney's comments, and some of the retorts, it would certainly reflect well on you. You also may want to brush up on your fixed income basics and be able to articulate why you are interested in public finance.

I was VERY unimpressed by their HR. Personally would never work with them because of that - won't go into details to protect privacy.
