I'm a rising sophomore in college, and I'll be in Pittsburgh this summer. I've been searching for an internship there. Anyone know any solid firms I can apply to? I've already applied to Northwestern Mutual, MassMutual, and Fragasso. I have some connections at PNC, but they even told me that they never take kids my age for their summer program.

Giant Eagle summer analyst program is very respected in the industry
There are a few private equity firms in Pittsburgh that are pretty reputable - PNC Riverarch and Incline Equity come to mind first. Might be worth trying to connect with someone there to see if they'd be willing to take you on as an intern.
PNC takes rising sophomores for sure - not sure if they take them for S&T/IBD (doesn't hurt to try), but if you include BO/MO roles they definitely do.
I'm guessing you want to be in IB, but some other options that might be good internships:
BNY Mellon - Banking/AM/Advisory/PWM/etc. Chrysalis Ventures - VC/Early Stage PE with $400M AUM Federated Investors - Fixed Income/Equity/Money Market Mutual Funds with $375B AUM Fort Pitt Capital Group - Investment Advisor with $1.3B AUM FNB Capital Partners/Tecum Capital - LevFin/PE fund with $175M AUM Hefren-Tillitoson - Investment Advisor with $9B AUM Snow Capital - Investmen Advisor/Mutual Fund/Hedge Fund with $3B AUM Wilshire Advisors - Consulting/Analytics/FoF - no idea AUM
I have no idea if any of these places hire interns at all - just some of the bigger players/ones I could think of off of the top of my head in Pittsburgh finance. Good luck.
