PJT recruiting

I’ve got a sophomore offer, but I’m really interested in recruiting PJT RSSG for junior year, however, it doesn’t make sense for me to take PJT M&A over my current bank. Is there any way to find out which group you’re in before taking your offer?

Thanks

Congrats on MS! You obviously didn’t deserve the offer and you’re a diversity hire since you’re asking elementary questions like this!

I’m a diversity hire for my current bank because I didn’t know how PJT recruiting works the during summer after my freshman year?

Well first of all, you’re a diversity hire so you definitely don’t deserve the internship. Secondly, someone who has a shot of landing PJT, not even RSSG, already knows how basic IB recruiting works lol (especially with something as basic as the distinction between M&A and RX recruiting).

"You're diversity, so you don't deserve the job exclusively limited to diversity candidates."

Holy shit. Get a grip.

In the last couple cycles RSSG has recruited months before M&A so I don’t think there’s a limit at all. Generally different subsets of kids targeting each group.

It does not seem like you even know what RX is. You seem to be chasing RSSG for prestige reasons. I would put more emphasis into discerning what you’re interested in before you progress.

Probably that if you knew more about what RX is and how it works, you wouldn’t have posted the topic.

Also, only asking about PJT and no other RX teams makes you seem like a prestige hound.

how did you alr get an offer if you're only 2 days into your sophomore year?

From my understanding, PJT RSSG and M&A recruits in separate timelines. RX tend to recruit in advanced than M&A. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to recruit for both, but since you are only interested in PJT RSSG, you should try to learn more about the group and industry.

You definitely aren’t getting an RSSG 1R with this question, and your diversity status won’t help you at all. RSSG’s class this year was: 4 white males, 3 asian/indian males, and 2 asian women. Good luck!
