Position Description Brief Description of the Opportunity: KBW is currently hiring for its 2008 summer intern program. Interns will be located at KBWs headquarters in midtown Manhattan. The internship is a 10-week program and is a paid internship. Outstanding individuals may be offered an analyst position to start after graduating from college. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns work primarily with analysts and associates, assisting them with client specific transactions and new business development opportunities. This work includes industry and sector research, data gathering and presentation compilation. First-year analyst work including financial modeling and valuation analyses is available to interns if they demonstrate the capacity for it. Candidate Description: Applicants should possess a record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities. Relevant work experiences and knowledge of finance and accounting are encouraged but not required. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, possess sharp communication skills, and possess well developed quantitative and qualitative abilities. KBW does not offer a structured training program. Candidates should be self-motivated in that regard. KBW does provide weekly Friday lunches for interns during which different department heads come and speak about their departments, giving interns the opportunity to learn about departments other than those to which they are assigned. Ideal candidates will have a GPA of 3.50 or higher. However, candidates with an academic record below that are not discouraged from applying should other circumstances have affected their academic record.
