Please help me to structure an answer on ‘why M&A?’
Friends!
I’m working on ‘why M&A’ question. I know exactly why I want to do M&A, however I am a bit confused as to which way my answer should go:
a) I should mention what I find attractive in m&a (e.g., its strategic focus, etc)
b) I should say how my prior work experience led me to choose m&a.
Basically do I answer ‘how did you decide to go into m&a, what led you to m&a?’ or ‘what specific aspects/elements about m&a you find most attractive and interesting?’
Bump
maybe you wanna find 3 reasons why you find M&A interesting and tell a story for each one. Make it personal somehow but not too cringe where it makes it too unbelievable. ton of candidates will say the same reasons, but what really differentiates someone is how they tell a story. i hope that helps.
you need to answer this yourself....
Hehe technically all questions asked on here we should be answering ourselves :) if anything though, I’m asking for direction and not for an answer!
I specified that I know exactly why I want to do M&A, I’m just not sure if interviewers predominantly interested in how your past experience led you to M&A or in what specific elements of M&A you find captivating ::)
Because you want to stand up for your country and push back against the toxically-woke, extremist left that wants to regulate and break-up the giant banks. These radical, shadowy, leftist organizations such as Soros Funds, Clinton Org., ACLU & Antifa have gained so much ground on the common-man American that there are seldom ways for one to even fight back these days.
M&A is one of the last remaining hopes for taking our country back from the Marxist, NPC hoards. If we can consolidate and fund enough real-American businesses (Trump Org., Kushner Co, DWAC, Trump Media & Entertainment) we can create a powerhouse conglomerate with the financial & social capital that can go toe-to-toe with the liberal elites. Only then will America revert to an oil-guzzling, ice-melting, sea-turtle entrapping form of greatness not seen since the '80s.
Godspeed, OP
I think you'd want to loop in both. Did you find M&A interesting which lead you to your prior work experience that confirmed it was what you're interested in? Or did you start your prior experience and through that learned / became interested in M&A?
Depending on which way it went I think you walk the path from your history to where you are today through where you want to be tomorrow.
It’s inherently interesting, if you’re doing a sell side the company is putting itself up on the block. The CEO and board are focused on it and the outcome. For an acquirer it’s often transformative. Depending on the shop you may be holding pen on the model.
