Blubberfatty, Were you smoking pot before you posted this?

-------------- Either you sling crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot

The Enlightenment or Rationalism lead to the imprisonment in asylums of the insane, those suffering from hypothyroidism, artists, person's who thought the world was a cube-not flat, or anyone who did not meet the prevaling culture's litmus test of sanity. I must therefore be insane or on drugs. Has anyone seen the painting in the Prada museum in Madrid of "Saturn devouring his son"? The image of an insanely focused god choking on the arm of his son, holding the limp bloody body in his other hand. Eating one's progeny/one's self, essentialy. Can intense focus on one's goals lead to the insanity of solely consuming one's own progeny of thoughts? Artful searching can bring balance.

There's a few creative minds in banking, I'm sure.

I always liked this forum. But I felt one thing was missing. Now I know. It was this topic. Certainly poetry is one of the main drivers of this business. At the bank where I interned we even did sing our self-fabricated poems every Friday loudly and touched each other gently afterwards to exchange energy and spirit. blubberfatty, you're the type of guy this industry needs. Don't forget to wear you bandana when you come interviewing so everyone recognizes you and treats you with the deserved respect - YOU FOOL!!!

my judgement that you (blubberfatty) must be a complete tool and the pure definition of a douchebag. Are you still a virgin - I bet yes!!! I can imagine you sitting in the moonlight writing poems in the dust with your pale hand while taking yourself superserious and something special. All poetry you need in banking is the FT, WSJ and a list of NY clubs to hang out and pick up...

I am not a virgin when it comes to the experience of self importance. I have been where you are, however, I do believe that pursuit of selflessness, albeit difficult to achieve has merit. When approaching death or serious losses in a life, looking back at achievements can give a person comfort or self-distain depending on the quality of our previous choices. The only point is that if approached with an open mind, art can be one road toward a deeper understanding of self and others. This experience may make us better individuals or at least more original in our approaches to our careers. I do see a spark of artistic talent in the phrase "...sitting in the moonlight in the dust with your pale hand writing poems taking yourself..." I would have ended the prose on "yourself" however since it better expresses your theme of the lonely frustrated virgin.

Blubberfatty you might check out if you haven't already the book called the "Money Game" by Adam Smith(its a psydoneum) though its more directed at asset managers its interesting in that it talks about investing in terms I think you would enjoy given your earlier posts... it talks about knowing yourself, stepping outside yourself when making key decisions etc...let me know if what you think
