POST-COMPLETION OPT Timeline

Hello all,

I have heard multiple resources (personal friends + international student office) who said that OPT may take up to 4-5 months to get approved this year. In the past two years I've applied for OPT I've always my EAD within 90 days, but it may be up to 110 days this year.

I am concerned because I applied in the second week of March and only have 95 days till I have start my FT job.

Does anyone have any recommendation for what to do in this case? Is it possible to start training two weeks late? Will my offer be rescinded because fo a delayed start date? Is anyone else also facing a similar situation

Thank you!
