Potential PE Opportunity...thoughts?
I saw this job posted on my undergrad career site, and I wanted to get some thoughts on it. Here is the job info:
Job Description: *$10 Billion Private Equity Firm looking for extremely sharp recent graduate
*Screening potential investments and monitoring portfolio of holdings
*Financial Analysis/DD and recommending to PE Group Job Requirements: *BBA, BS with excellent stats and scores
*0-4 years expereince, prefer Investment Banking exp plus 1+ year of PE, Mezzanine/Lending or direct transaction exp
*GPA: 3.5+ *SAT Math 700+ +GMAT 700+
Sounds like a nice gig, but I am worried that this is somewhat of a monitoring role as opposed to a deal origination role. While I realize that a lot of entry level PE jobs require some sort of monitoring of existing deals, this had a bit of a risk managing/operational feel to it. Anyone concur, or am I just reading too much into it? I will probably throw down the resume either way, but I want to know what I am getting into before any potential interview.
Thanks.

Initially, what i have seen is that these PE VC firms use under graduates for more of analytical work.
