Practicing (FIG) Modelling

I am at a BB in FIG and would like to practice some modelling in my downtime - any good resources other than using internal models that are already built? Would like to look at banks and insurance basic operating models / DDM / Merger models (capital impacts, accr / dilution). Unfortunately, even though I get some exposure to modelling besides all the grunt / basic work, it is still the associate who takes ownership of the model in my team.

well, they sometimes do - especially when they are busy on other stuff. But my team is quite busy / many things happen "last minute" so the associate would usually do the major part, probably because of efficiency reasons - no time to check a first years work thoroughly, etc.

but I always try to follow the steps that have been done by the ASO and go through the file. just don't think that this is as efficient in terms of learning experience if you are looking at an already built model.
