Preparing to take out roughly $80,000 in loans (overestimate). Can my Finance major/ CS minor handle it?

Hey. I'm a high school senior getting ready to go to UConn or NYU. I'm preparing to take out a great deal of loan money. Have any of you done anything similar? Will a finance major/ computer science minor be able to handle this financial burden?

What jobs are available for such an educational combination that will set me off on the right foot for paying back these loans and having a comfortable life?

Whatever you do, don't pay $80K to go to UConn. NYU, sure, but not the former. It may simply be too risky at this stage for you to commit such a huge amount for a school that may not necessarily provide the same opportunities NYU would.

in it 2 win it

80000 is a shit ton of money don't go to Uconn NYU is way better with much greater opportunities. Get a job during school and balance your schedule and work and you should be able to cut that down a lot with summer jobs also

hermitruneAlright. I'll take your words for it, guys. Thing is I haven't really been accepted into NYU yet. I currently have my state legislator making a personal appeal to the President of NYU to get me in. Hopefully things work out.

lol

Friends don't let friends go to UConn.

hermitrune@Louboutins - What do you mean?

It means don't pay 80k to go to UConn. If you get into NYU go. If not, go to a cheaper school then transfer to a better one.

Your SAT score is really good. Applications are often a crapshoot... You can probably get into some solid schools with that profile if you get good grades your first semester.

Guys, I need your help.

Should I take out 250k to go to HBS, or should I go to Mendoza? I would like to Wall Street one day, like the movie, and was wondering if these schools would give me a comfortable lifestyle. Thx.
