Private Credit to Lev Fin

Bump.. also currently at a direct lending fund in Chi and looking to move to LevFin at a BB

What are you hoping to learn in Levfin that you’re not learning in PC? Move feels a little backwards to me

Not sure what more you would be learning in lev fin at a bank? Papering deals for direct lending is probably more interesting than papering deals for credit risk committee at a BB. Maybe if you're at a small fund exposure to bigger businesses is more interesting? But can't see why anyone would want to move to lev fin from private credit.Also lev fin prob no seats now, market has been shut for a while.

I’ve had similar struggles/thoughts and have come to realize that credit is just structurally boring.

Not OP.. I am just looking to move to East Coast. Goal is to probably transition to LevFin and move up from there because most roles I am seeing in NY on PC side are either 2 and out or at LMM funds that aren't paying market.

Normally people move from lev fin to your spot.

If learning is your main motivation, you already know everything lev fin has to teach you if you can competently do direct lending.

If there is some other motivation, it should be easy to move into lev fin since the work is the same as to what you’re doing now.
