Pubfin to Levfin
Hi! Starting out my career in pubfin at a regional bank but don’t see myself staying with the group in the long term. I have been researching potential candidates for groups to lateral to and wanted to know how feasible a switch to levfin is given my experience. Given my work so far has been less credit analysis focused is this switch possible and what do I need to learn before attempting the switch?
It would def be hard. If you’re doing an analyst program then maybe more plausible but at my bank those 2nd year analyst spots tend to goto the people in the execution/underwriting/credit portion of our LevFin group. Get to networking hard if you are set on LevFin, but I’d think DCM would be an easier move.
Pubfin pretty much pigeon holes u into DCM as ur first lateral guaranteed (bar any specialised P3 stuff) then the dcm to levfin is an easy move
